General rules
- No characters are banned. Console characters are allowed.
- Each match will be best of 3.
- All players must indicate the character they wish to use upon registration. No switching mid-tournament allowed, Japanese style.
- Extra buttons (the 2 on the farthest right) on the Madcatz TE joystick (and other possible controllers) will be set to ‘no function’. Only 6 buttons shall be used at all times. Use of the turbo function is also prohibited.
Tournament day rules
- If players cannot agree on which side they will play on (P1/P2), scissors paper stone will be used to determine the sides.
- In the event a player pauses the game, accidentally or deliberately via the pause button or otherwise (e.g. yanking the controller out), he/she will forfeit the round.
- The winner of each match is responsible for reporting the result to the game marshal
- In the case of equipment failure, the entire match will be replayed. Equipment failure must be reported IMMEDIATELY to a marshal. If not, the match result will stand.
- Players who are more than 5 mins late for their match will forfeit the match. If you have a match coming up and need to go to the toilet or need your match delayed for whatever reason, please alert a marshal.
General conduct
- No forms of physical and/or verbal intimidation outside of the game shall be used whatsoever. Use of which may be subject to disqualification.
- General decency rules apply. e.g.: players who lose their temper (shouting obscenities, slamming the joystick in anger) will be given 1 warning. After 1 warning, further violations will result in disqualification.
- Any sort of collusion/match fixing (aka. ‘Kelong’) between competitors is strictly prohibited. The tournament director reserves final judgment on this issue.
- No gambling whatsoever is allowed during the tournament.
Judges’ decisions are final. The tournament director reserves the right to amend this list of rules and regulations at any time, in the event which proper notice shall be given. Participants are solely liable for any personal losses sustained during the tournament. |
