This event will be capped at a massive 128 participants, and will be double-elim, because everyone deserves a second chance. =)

That’s right folks, if you’ve been wondering who Momochi and Choco Blanka will team with for the upcoming 16 team only 5 v 5 Super Street Fighter 4 Tournament on 11th July at Battle Medley Singapore, the answer could be none other than…YOU.

We will be putting the names of everyone that has registered and participated in Battle Medley Singapore (see end of announcement for full event programme details) in one huge ass box, and in true Lucky Draw fashion, Momochi and Choco, along with 1 special guest, will pick their 2 team mates from the names in the box. The more activities/tournaments you sign up for at Battle Medley Singapore, the more slips of paper with your name on it being put into the box. It’s simple math. Full participation almost guarantees a 6-4 matchup in YOUR favour.

This will take place before the 5 v 5 starts on Sunday evening so make sure you’re around if you wanna stand a chance of being in the same team as the guy whose match videos have singlehandedly inspired a generation of Raging Demons. And oh did we mention that our guests will be going for dinner with their team mates prior to the 5 v 5 as well? There’s certainly never been a better time to be a Street Fighter fan in Singapore.

*IMPORTANT: If you’re already in a team participating in the 5 v 5, and you somehow get picked by Momochi and Choco to be in their team, the team that you play for in the end is entirely YOUR DECISION. If you foresee circumstances which will prevent you from joining their team (like already being in a 5v5 team which you won’t leave), please refrain from participating in the draw.

Battle Medley Singapore 2010 is all about uniting the hardcore, the casuals, the arcade players, the console gamers and everybody who shares an interest in Street Fighter, and there’s no better way to do it than via the first ever Captains’ Tournament, a team tournaments designed to encourage new players and beginners to enter the fold of competitive Street Fighter while still preserving the high level of play and intensity that can be found at all Round1.sg Events.

WHAT: The first ever Captains’ Tournament at Battle Medley Singapore 2010

WHEN: 1pm -4pm, Sunday 11 July 2010

WHO: 8 Captains, and everyone else.

FORMAT:

• Single Elimination 8 teams- Capped up to 10 players a team
• The top 6 from the 1 v 1 Tournament on the 10th July will be chosen as Captains. Momochi and Choco will be the final 2 Captains.
• The Captains will pull the names of their team mates from a box with the names of everyone who has registered for the tournament.
